Visiting the Sick and Elderly
A program of compassion and caring
A group of volunteers visits the sick and elderly to offer support, conversation, and companionship in difficult times. They also help with resources for food, medicine, transportation for medical appointments, hospital visits, and funeral services.
Making the World a Better Place
Each pueblo has a “Friends of Sister Terry” group who serves people in the neediest and most desperate situations, in memory of Sr. Terry Maksym (see our history) who was known for her passion for serving others. Maya Missions provides financial assistance each month which the local team carefully allocates according to greatest needs.
Two of our board members joined some of these visits and were deeply moved by the challenges people faced, the compassion of our volunteers, and the appreciation and smiles shown by the individuals and their families for the visits.
These volunteers are a wonderful example of helping make the world a better place.

You can help!
You can support caring for these sick and elderly neighbors by making a donation to our Maya Missions programs.
Thank you for helping make this world a better place!
